Although the weather has turned around here and is no longer -40C, it is still snowy outside and we are still in the depths of winter.  And as always in this part of the world, warmer weather in the winter inevitably comes along with WIND.  But never fear — this double brim toque is so very warm!  It is my new favorite hat and great for those chilly, windy days – your ears will never get cold!

You can create this beautiful toque using a 5mm hook and any worsted weight yarn.  The sample shown was made using Bernat Premium in Dark Gray Heather and used far less than half of the skein.

Starting with a doubled brim, the toque is then worked up to the crown in a spiral without joining.  It is a mindless, meditative pattern that is so very easy to master.  You can definitely watch a movie while crocheting this cute toque without losing your place!
