I don’t know what the weather is link in your neck of the woods, but here it is cold.  Like really, really COLD.  We’ve been spoiled with above seasonal temperatures for most of the winter, but this week we are getting HAMMERED with a polar vortex.  Which basically means all the cold artic air has flown south and settled over my house. For a week.

So obviously with this lovely weather, my feet got chilly yesterday and I decided to make myself a new pair of slippers.  I grabbed some random yarn, a big hook and went to town.  Well, not actually TO town.  Because we’re in the midst of a pandemic (you may have heard about it?) so we don’t go to town much at all unless we need groceries. Or the mail. Or something made up so I can get out of the house for a few hours! HA!

So in spite of the crappy weather and the crappy pandemic, or maybe because of them both, I have created a super simple, super cute pattern for your feeties.  It is easy enough that you can make a pair in a few hours.  Yes, the name is quite literal!  Simple Sunday Slippers.  I hope you enjoy making them!

Materials:

Pattern Notes:

  • The name says it all! These slippers are a super simple pattern you will be able to whip up in just a few hours
  • If you can single crochet, then this pattern is for you
  • These slippers are worked in the round from the toe to the centre of the arch, then back and forth in rows to the heel. The heel is then slip stitched closed.
  • As written, these slippers fit approximately a women’s size 8.5-9 but can be adjusted by adding or removing rows as indicated in the pattern
  • The sample pair looks super cute using a solid yarn and a variegated yarn, but two solid colors would look great too

  • st/sts – stitch/stitches
  • sc – single crochet
  • ch – chain
  • 2sc – work 2 sc into the same stitch
  • sk – skip number of sts indicated
